Back to Harry's Happy Hammers

Samassi Abou

Former french under 21 Abou who was originally brought in to the squad towards the start of last season as cover for an injury hit squad. He soon found his mix of flair and unpredictability made him an hero amongst the West Ham fans. Although he was never a regular he often found himself in the first team due to Kitson's many injuries last season and the extreme lack of forwards after the departure of Iain Dowie. The highlights of last season were the 6-0 victory against Barnsley and the 4-3 victory against Leicester on the last day of the season scoring two on both these occasions and creating two important victories. Abou hit a low against Tottenham when he was sent off for an off the ball incident and the ban he was handed for another off the ball incident with Patrick Viera against Arsenal in the F.A cup quarter final replay is another moment he would wish to erase from his memory. Now on the verge of a possible move to Bradford City for 800k if the deal goes through he will be missed.
